We are a family owned and operated business located on the historic North Shore ,Oahu, Hawaii.
It was a rough start for us to stay in the apparel industry to offer fair- trade clothing in Hawaii because we kept seeing the same cheap fabric for the mass production of tourist clothing we realized that it is impossible to compete with the ingenuine plastic nature of a souvenir industry.
We put our thoughts into it and came up with a new concept of children`s clothing in order to offer something unique and original to our customers, also to be humbly satisfied with our work.
We started Keikimono Apparel, Inc. to be a collection of `one-of-a-kind, handmade Children`s clothing with Tropical, Hawaiian and Polynesian custom prints that we designed by ourselves using historical art as our guide and teacher,
in order to offer something unique and original to our customers, also to be humbly satisfied with our work.
In the early days of the spur of Hawaiian pop culture, a local professional had an idea to combine a Philippine Dress/Casual shirt with Hawaiian flare print that has been known the world over as the Aloha Shirt.
We have taken inspiration from this ambassador of Hawaiian iconography, and blended our own unique and original concept from our love of Japanese culture and the influence it has had over generations of Hawaii kama-aina (locals).
Our featured, flagship product "Keikimono®" Kids Hawaiian Jinbei is a result of blending an iconic Japanese jinbei (Summer Kimono) with our custom prints which represent Hawaii. We believe it embraces the blending of two cultures of Hawaii and Japan that we Love!
Our creation of Keikimono Apparel is the latest addition to our ever expanding line of textile goods, as our very first brand "Sakura Baby Line" products will still be available.
